Commitment To Taking Action:
I’m not sure what your situation is, but if you are not committed to taking action and doing the things that need to be done, the things that will move you forward towards your goals, I can assure you, you will fail at whatever you are attempting to accomplish.

Commitment to taking action is especially important when it comes to running your own home based business.  You no longer have a boss breathing down your back, constantly looking over your shoulder, making sure that you are doing the work that you are supposed to be doing.  You are your boss.  Hopefully, you are a good one and you keep yourself on track.

When it seems like things aren’t working, don’t give up.  Just step back and reassess where you are and where you want to be.  Keep going after it, never loose your dream.

The moment you think about quitting, I want you to think about something.  In Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, there is a story about a Prospector who is digging around and finds some gold.  After digging a little more, he finds a couple more nuggests.  He sets up a mine and continues to dig, but no more gold is found.  Finally, after years of digging with no success, he gives up, quits, and sells the mine, only to find out that he was only 3 feet away from the gold from the point he started, he had just been digging in the wrong direction.  Think about how far away you could be from your gold.  Do you still want to quit?

Commitment To Self Mastery
Successful leaders have a commitment to self mastery.  They let their flesh know who’s in charge.  Look for ways to say no to yourself every day.  If you do, you’ll be able to do it when it really counts.  Zero in on the undiciplined areas of your life that you excuse or postpone dealing with.  Everything may be permissable to you, but not everything is beneficial.  If in doubt, ask yourself if it is beneficial to do whatever you are thinking about.  How many times do you say to yourself “I know I need to change, I will tomorrow”?

You have the right to spend your time and money how ever you please, but you do not have the right to complain when the law of diminishing returns kicks in and you finish in the poor house.  You have the right to fill your mind with any kind of garbage that you choose.  But understand this, constant exposure to the wrong things will weaken your character, rob you of self respect, and eventually enslave you.  When it comes to replacing bad habits with good ones, only one person is going to make it happen, and that is you.  Your character, the sum total of your every day choices, day by day, what you think, what you choose, and what you do, is what you become.

Stay committed to taking action.  Never give up, keep going after it, and take the actions that need to be taken to move you forward towards your goals.  Be that 3% kind of leader today.

An authentic priority is one that is constantly chosen. It is a conscious decision.

Many of our priorities are sub-conscious, like watching the mindless boob-tube or electronic income reducer as it is often called (TV).

But once you become aware of a new personal development within you, a huge transformation can take place. You can consciously choose a different path. One of purpose, direction, and meaning.

Authentic priorities can bring you enthusiasm, energy, and motivation. They can free you from the forces of circumstance, expectation, and habit.

Habit can be perceived as good or bad. Are you consciously aware of what your habits are?

Here are the 5 Daily Habits of Successful Leaders, ask yourself if you are doing these every day:

Are you visualizing your goals?

Are you consistent with your daily income producing activities?

Are you consciously working on your self, on your self mastery?

Are you Masterminding with other Leaders (by being plugged in)?

Are you cultivating the expectation of leadership?

Just by changing your priorities, you can create a whole new life for yourself. As you grow and change, so will your priorities, and that’s okay as long as they are authentic and are moving you towards your goals.

Discover what your priorities are by asking yourself these questions:

What do you think about?

How do you spend your money? (Just look in your checkbook ledger)

How do you spend your time?

When you choose to become an entrepreneur, the only way to foster this kind of growth is through Study. Study of your trade, your self, and of other leaders. The definition of Study is the application of the mental faculties to the acquisition of knowledge, or a state of contemplation. Study is an adventure. A doorway of discovery. Through Study we transcend narrow and superficial understandings and begin to see more deeply into the reality of what’s really possible for us.

We are either growing or we are dieing. We grow through Study. So, get plugged into the community, the training, the events.

We are transformed through the renewal of our minds by doing the things that are most worthy. What is going to allow you to get what you want? What is worthy for you? Apply your mind to what is most worthy for you.

You can see it as a task… or an adventure. It’s up to you.

Commit to the study, the knowledge, and the adventure of what you have in front of you.

Don’t just get in the game. Get in the game to play to win.

I’ll see you on the other side!

Our Austrees – A Lesson In Growth

In November of 2008, the end of the growing season, my Husband’s Mom and Step-Dad brought with them from Idaho, 2 little starts of some of their Austrees. Austrees are a very fast growing hardy tree, a hybrid of the Willow. I remember fondly the Weeping Willow tree we had in our backyard growing up. It was huge and originated from just three little twigs from the corner neighbor’s tree. It grew to epic proportions, and we eventually had to chop it down after being damaged several times over the years in storms, and after way too many times of taking out the power lines (and once falling on the roof of the neighbor’s garage). I’ve always loved the Willow tree, so I was excited to see what these would be like. They have the shape of the leaves of the Willow, just not drooping like the Weeping Willow, and incredible speed of growth, which is great for a new backyard that desperately needs trees.

Left Austree This is the Austree on the left in our backyard. As I said, it was planted as just a little start. While it didn’t get much of a chance to do anything the first year it was planted because the growing season was over, it heartily made it up in last year’s season. This lil runt grew to 7 feet in that one season. It’s slightly smaller and weaker than its counterpart, but more full. Left Austree Closeup
Right Austree This is the Austree on the right in our backyard. This is the champion of champions. We had a little rabbit that ran through the yards, and it got hungry that first winter and chewed this start down to within an inch of the ground. We thought it was all over for that one. But, this little slugger proved us wrong. It started anew right behind that one inch lil stub and grew from nothing to 8 foot last growing season. Because we had put wire mesh screens and stakes around the trees to protect them from any little critters who would nibble on them in their fragile state while they were growing, this one got damaged in a wind storm by scraping against the top of the screen. So, it’s a little barren on it’s right side, but it’s coming back. Right Austree Closeup

These two Austrees have been champions of growth, showing that from little to nothing, something great can come of it. I’m so proud of my trees and am so excited to see what they do this season. My Father-In-Law thinks they will double in size this year. Wow! I can’t wait! I know already, I’ve seen around a half foot of growth on each tree and the trunks have gotten thicker.

These trees are definitely and inspiration.  If these trees can attain that much growth – from little to nothing, anyone can. It just takes the will to grow!
